Citrine is a beautiful, enchanting, and uplifting type of quartz. Its color ranges from pale yellow to brown, due to iron compounds inside.
Natural Citrine is rare! Most commercial Citrine isn’t really Citrine at all, but is instead amethyst/smoky quartz that has been baked with high heat. Heated-treated or “faux” Citrine looks orange. A real Citrine’s appearance is typically a cloudy, dull yellow.
Citrine is a powerful spiritual cleanser, and can assist in removing destructive behavior and accepting criticisms in order to ultimately achieve your goals. It is also considered to be the best crystal for manifesting your dreams.
Does Citrine Need to Be Cleansed?
There is a common misconception that Citrine doesn’t need to be cleansed.
Since it is very molecularly similar to quartz (it IS quartz with iron inclusions), Citrine DOES need to be cleansed after energy work, or after it absorbs energy from another person, or being exposed to a high-traffic environment.
This is because Quartz can be programmed with intentions, and since Citrine is a type of Quartz, it can hold intention as well. If someone programmed a Citrine with bad intentions, wouldn’t you want to cleanse it first? Of course you would!
Use with Manifestation
Citrine is associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra, which is known as the Power Chakra. The Solar Plexus Chakra is the energy vortex located above your belly button and below your heart. This vortex is what fuels your intentions.
- Try meditating with a piece of Citrine on or near your Solar Plexus Chakra, while focusing on your intentions to manifest the life you want.
- Keep a piece of Citrine in your hand as you write your intentions. If you’d like, recite the mantra, “My life is filled with abundance. I am filled with positivity and I let go of all negativity.” Once. finished, keep the Citrine on top of the paper until the intentions manifest.
Citrine has been referred to as the “Merchant’s Stone” because of its ability to attract money and wealth. This may be attributed to its natural ability to heighten self-discipline and willpower. To try it yourself, place a piece of Citrine in a cash box/drawer in the south east of any room, home, or office which is the universal “wealth corner” according to Feng Shui.
